The 'Preferred Surname' field is a great addition to Student Manager, but it is a bit useless as long as we cannot have the option to display it on the student name list, such as for attendance registration, or Student Manager lists.
The option is there for Preferred first name/Prename, please can Preferred Surname be added as an option as well?

Like Emmalee below, I'm trying to work out why this field would have been created for us to use when the field is pretty useless?! The preferred surname does not pull through on any lists nor does is show on systems feeding from iSAMS such as Classlist, etc. unlike preferred forename.
With so many complicated family situations - pupils using different surnames to legal names, it is so unfair that pupils are being negatively affected by this. I have one family that due to not legally being able to have their child's legal surname in the public domain, they are excluded from using one of our main school and parent body communication tools. I also have others whose children are upset as their legal name shows up on lists and communication and not their preferred name. Some have never been known as their legal name during their school years.
Surely the need for this option to work is wide spread and not exclusive to our school?
I'd love to hear of a solution and a timeline for getting this working - I am assuming there was a plan for this when it was created?!

Is there any update on this, it has been a while since the preferred surname field was made available but we have never been able to make use of it. It is causing a few problems in our school with children who have never been known as their official surname but that name is coming off on registers etc. Would be ideal for it to be set and used in the same way as the preferred forename field is. Thank you.
